With the addition of new partner Sjef Bartels and associate partner Carry Dullaart, Labré advocaten has added experience to its corporate law division and now also boasts a fully-fledged insolvency practice. Introducing Sjef and Carry!
Sjef grew up near the German border in the Nijmegen area. After secondary school, Sjef studied Dutch Civil law at the university of Nijmegen and international law at the university of Bologna, Italy. He started his career as a legal trainee at ING Bank in 1999. In 2002 Sjef was offered a job as lawyer with NautaDutilh in Amsterdam and London, where he specialized in loan finance and financial regulatory law. Sjef gained experience in corporate takeovers, acquisitions and restructuring at Cleber Advocaten in Amsterdam. Since 2008 he regularly is appointed liquidator in bankruptcy cases and administrator in moratoriums. In his spare time, Sjef is an avid trumpet player in various orchestras and he loves spending time at home with his wife and three sons.
Carry was raised in Rotterdam and studied Dutch Civil law in Leiden. After obtaining his Master’s in Civil Law, he started his career in the legal profession at NautaDutilh in Rotterdam where he gained experience in Corporate Law and Economic Criminal Law. Subsequently, in his position at Cleber advocaten, Carry advised on corporate takeovers, takeover disputes and specialized in insolvency law. Carry is regularly appointed liquidator in bankruptcies by the Amsterdam District Court. Carry is a fanatic rugby player and lives in Amsterdam with his fiancée.
