Germany: Working with the German Works Council
18 December 2019Frank Engelhard
Expert German employment lawyers from the London and Düsseldorf office locations of WLN member firms ebl miller rosenfalck and ebl esch & kramer have teamed up with leading German professional development and training provider Haufe-Akademie to deliver English language seminars on ‘Working with the German Works Council’.
Edzard Clifton-Dey (London) and Jens Niehl (Düsseldorf) are both very experienced German employment lawyers. Both have extensive experience in guiding international clients through the minefield of Works Council co-determination issues in Germany and how these impact on staff management in Germany, particularly where such corporates have in place an international matrix organisational structure.
They have now teamed up with Haufe-Akademie, the leading German professional development provider, to share their insight with a wider audience. A number of one-day seminars (all delivered in English) have now been scheduled in Germany throughout 2020 to demystify the topic and to help non-German-speaking HR Managers and Line Managers with personnel responsibility in Germany to:
- identify and understand the level of German works council participation;
- identify typical conflict areas between management and works council; and
- prevent costly mistakes for their business.
